Since the beginning of this year, new coronavirus variants represented by the Delta strain have spread globally, posing even more severe challenges to the world’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Many countries have carried out broad-based COVID-19 vaccinations, but the vaccine resources in less developed regions are still limited. How can international financial institutions meet long-term global financing and reserve needs to give countries equitable access to vaccines and treatments? How can we enhance the effectiveness of public–private partnerships and synergy among various financing mechanisms to improve the prevention of and response to global pandemics?
